The Haslers Foundation was established in 2008 and became a Charity Commission-registered charity in 2013 (registered charity number 1154817).
It co-ordinates Haslers’ fundraising and other support for good causes and since it was founded has awarded more than £160,000 to local and national organisations. Our charity’s key objectives are to:
- prevent or relieve poverty and financial hardship by providing grants and services to people in need or to charities or other organisations involved in this type of work
- support people who are ill or have long-term medical conditions and initiatives to preserve good health
- supporting recreational, leisure education and other activities to help young people participate in society as mature, responsible individuals.
The Haslers Foundation – Comments from charities
Recent Haslers Foundation contributions have included £3,000 for Haven Hospices in Essex, to buy three reclining chairs for patients to use if they cannot sleep lying down and £650 to Oak View School, Loughton, for a Sensory Eye-FX that will enable a pupil with cerebral palsy to develop communication skills and assist her in day-to-day life.

The Haslers team is also actively involved in fundraising for our charity including through our annual quiz, which raised £1,768 in 2014, £3,363 in 2015, £4,500 in 2016, £4,600 in 2017 and £3,000 in 2018.
In January 2015, the Haslers Foundation was one of three charities to benefit from funds raised by tax partner Jon O’Shea after he successfully completed the World Marathon Challenge. The challenge involved running seven marathons on seven continents in seven days – a total of more than 183 miles – and travelling nearly 24,000 miles, from Antarctica to Australia.
The Haslers Foundation, St Clare Hospice in Hastingwood, Essex, and the Teenage Cancer Trust each received a £13,443 donation from Jon.
The Haslers Foundation not only does practical work that makes a real difference to good causes – setting up and running a charity means that we can see things from the same perspective as our charity clients, which adds further value to our services for the charity sector.
