Community donates hundreds of Christmas presents to needy children in ‘amazing’ church appeal

A church has hailed the “amazing” generosity of community members after hundreds of gifts were donated to its appeal to help needy children at Christmas.

Loughton Baptist Church, in Loughton High Road, has collected more than 250 presents as part of its “Give a Gift” campaign.

Local residents and groups donated the gifts, which will be given to children who are affected by homelessness, as well as those spending Christmas at Haven House Hospice in Woodford Green.

The biggest contribution to the appeal came from Loughton-based chartered accountants Haslers, which the church said “significantly impacted” the success of the campaign.
