Fraud – If you think schools aren’t a target, you need to think again!
To help school leaders and business managers better understand the threat that fraud presents to their carefully guarded budgets and finances, the team at Haslers Chartered Accountants has teamed up with Lloyds Bank and Stone King Solicitors to co-host a FREE education seminar on 12 October 2017.
The National Fraud Intelligence Bureau and the Metropolitan Police have both recently highlighted a number of cases where schools were the target of fraudsters.
While most schools may think they are an unlikely target for scammers, nothing could be further from the truth, with both internal and external threats of grave concern to the education sector.
Simon Lock of Lloyds Bank will provide an overview on:
- the most-common types of financial-crime and some simple steps for schools to protect themselves
- awareness being the first step to prevention.
Meanwhile, Haslers’ Corporate Finance Partner, Michael Watts, will explore:
- common types of accounting fraud
- how to detect and defend against Accounting fraud
- accounting scandals.
A member of Stone King Solicitors’ specialist team will also be in attendance to answer any queries regarding the legal issues surrounding fraud.
