A team of 15 staff members from Haslers Chartered Accountants have taken part in the Great Team Relay as part of their challenge to complete 10,000 miles before the end of September to raise money for charity.
The runners were split into four separate teams each competing at the event, which took place on 4 July at the iconic Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.
Despite competition from more than 500 teams, Haslers Team 1 managed to come home in fourth place in the mixed group leader board.
Jon O’Shea, Chairman at Haslers, said: “What a brilliant way to kick off our latest fundraising challenge. Everybody who took part in the Great Team Relay put in a lot of hard work and we are really proud to have posted such an excellent time.
“However, this is only the beginning of what promises to be an epic challenge for everyone at the firm, so we hope more people will back us as we launch ourselves into some of the toughest physical events this year.”
Over the coming months, staff and partners from the Loughton-based firm will walk, run, swim and cycle to raise money for its in-house charity, Haslers Foundation, which supports a number of good causes across Essex and beyond.
For every mile covered, the firm hopes to raise £1, which means that by the end of the challenge they hope to hit their target of £10,000 which will be awarded to local charities.
