Haslers Foundation brings festive cheer with a plethora of charitable donations
With thousands of people across Essex and the South East facing a less than cheerful festive season, Haslers Foundation has ramped up its charitable efforts to bring some much-needed joy to the region.
The Loughton-based charitable wing of Haslers Chartered Accountants has undertaken a monumental charity drive, as they support many local good causes.
Their festive charity campaign kicked off back in September, when the team of accountants, tax advisers and experts donated clothes and £160 to Feed the Streetz, which was used to buy socks and warm winter garments.
This donation was more than doubled by the Foundation who spent an additional £300 on essential items to support the charity, which is helping London’s homeless community during the cold and wet winter months.
This donation was quickly followed up by donations of essential food items and £300 to 3Food4U, a community surplus hub with locations throughout London and Essex, which helps those in need of food and everyday items.
Another local cause to benefit from the Foundation’s work is Oak View School, which received a donation of 165 Christmas chocolate selection boxes for its students, who have a variety of special educational needs.
One of Haslers’ longest-standing charity partnerships is with the Frank Charles Give a Gift Appeal. This was rekindled once again this year with the firm’s staff donating £589 worth of presents, which was matched by Haslers Foundation.
The gifts are distributed via the appeal to sick and injured children receiving treatment and care at Whipps Cross Hospital during the holidays.
Jon O’Shea, Chair of Haslers Chartered Accountants and the Foundation, said: “Our team have worked incredibly hard to raise money and donations for this winter to help those most in need.
“The last few years have been incredibly challenging for many local organisations, and we are just glad that we can do our bit to help them out.
“The Foundation continues to play an important role within the region’s communities, but it would not be able to achieve this without our supportive staff, contacts and clients.”
For more than a decade, Haslers Foundation has worked tirelessly to raise money to support charities, community groups and good causes, in and around Epping Forest.
It has raised over £190,000 during this period, which has helped charities such as Epping Food Bank, SNAP, Haven House and MCA Trust.
