Haslers Ironman celebrates success in Copenhagen

A VAT executive at Loughton accountancy firm, Haslers Chartered Accountants, is celebrating having completed a long-distance triathlon event in Copenhagen.

Lee Ervin, was among a number of competitors to recently compete in the Ironman event in the Danish Capital which saw him swim 2.4 miles, cycle an incredible 112 miles and run 26.2 miles in just 12 hours and 50 minutes.

Speaking about his experiences Lee said: “After a years’ worth of hard training I was delighted to finally take part in this event. I had adversity to deal with during the run which made for a hard end to the day but I crossed the finish line with the knowledge that I had helped contribute to our fantastic charity challenge.

“I’m happy to say that I can now call myself an Ironman. Words can’t really express how good it felt to finish.”

Jon O’Shea, Chairman at Haslers, said: “Everyone is so proud of what Lee has achieved. Having taken part in a number of long-distance events myself, I can fully appreciate the effort and mental strength that it takes to cross the finish line”.
