Highbury Korfball Club has gained the support of Haslers Chartered Accountants following a successful season in the English South & East League.
Originating in the Netherlands, Korfball is a mixed-sex sport similar to netball, which has gained popularity around the world.
Already part of the World Games program, the precursor to the Olympics, it continues to draw larger crowds year-after-year, which is why Haslers has chosen to support local players from Highbury Korfball Club.
The team, which trains in Petchey Academy in Dalston, is one of London’s largest fastest growing clubs in this up and coming sport and recently competed in the England Korfball Grand Finals at Copper Box Arena in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, where they narrowly missed out on promotion to the England National League.
Darryl Light, a player on the team since 2012 and a Corporate Finance Executive at Haslers, said: “I am delighted that Haslers has chosen to support Highbury Korfball Club. We have had a fantastic season and the sponsorship they are offering will ensure that we are able to continue to grow the club and spread the word about this exciting sport.”
Jon O’Shea, Chairman at Haslers added: “We are delighted to be supporting Highbury Korfball Club as it continues to rack up an impressive record as one of London’s premier teams in this fast-growing sport. I would like to wish Darryl and his teammates the best of luck for the season ahead of them.”
Highbury Korfball Club caters for everyone from experienced players, who often pick up the sport at school or university, all the way down to brand new players who have only just heard of the sport.
