Businesses from across Essex and the South East have been invited to learn more about the R&D Tax Credit regime at a free event organised by tax specialists from Haslers Chartered Accountants.

Hosted at the firm’s offices in Old Station Road, Loughton, the R&D Masterclass has been designed to increase awareness of this tax relief system and help business owners make sense of the system.

Research and Development (R&D) Tax Credits are a tax incentive intended to inspire companies to invest in R&D in return for a reduction to their tax bill or cash credits to offset their investment in innovation.

In fact, smaller businesses can deduct up to 230 per cent of their qualifying R&D costs from their yearly profits – that’s 33p in every £1 of R&D spending!

Haslers have a lot of experience assisting businesses with R&D Tax Credits, but they believe that there may be many more companies out there who are unaware that they could benefit from the regime.

This free event on Wednesday 25 September 2019 will feature talks from Haslers’ team, as well as a free 15-minute consultation to evaluate businesses technical eligibility following the masterclass. Guests will also be offered the chance to book an exclusive 20-minute one-to-one slot with Haslers’ Tax Manager, Peter Cross.

Paul Reynolds, Tax Partner at Haslers, said: “Some myths continue to persist about the R&D Tax Credit scheme and who can apply, but many businesses can use the system as long as they can demonstrate that they have made a new advancement through R&D.

“Some 40,000 claims were made last year, which opened up millions of pounds of investment for companies of all sizes and we hope this free presentation will help more businesses to benefit from this generous tax relief.”

Haslers are expecting this to be a popular event and are encouraging business owners to sign up by visiting https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/rd-masterclass-free-event-tickets-61100748985
