Haslers step into “Steptember” with charity fitness competition
With a growing focus on health and wellbeing in the workplace, Haslers Chartered Accountants is challenging its’ team to Step into “Steptember” for the charity Mind.
From the 4 -11 September, Haslers health and wellbeing committee will be hosting a competition that aims to keep its team fit and healthy.
The firm has put together teams of up to 10 staff members from its workforce of over 100 employees, who will compete against each other to walk the most steps.
With prizes up for grabs for the team that step the most, everyone is excited to be taking part in the event, which will also raise money for mental health charity Mind.
Steps can be achieved by walking the dog each day, walking to make a cup of tea, going for a run, dancing, walking to the shop or even walking from bed to a desk on staff members work from home days – every stride counts!
Haslers’ HR Partner Christine Inch, said: “The events of the last 18 months have highlighted the importance of physical and mental wellbeing, not only in our personal lives but also at work, and so we wanted to do something that would encourage our team to get moving, in addition to having a bit of fun and inter-team competition
“Everyone is really behind the idea, especially as it is raising money for Mind – a charity focused on supporting people with mental health conditions. We can’t wait to see how many steps our entire team can complete. “
Christine, who heads the HR & Team Development division at Haslers, not only supports its own team but also works closely with the firm’s clients to improve engagement and staff retention.
“I hope our latest charity challenge will encourage other local businesses to consider the wellbeing needs of their staff and host their own events and activities that help keep their team fit and healthy,” she added.
Haslers health and wellbeing committee was launched in 2019 to give staff the opportunity and some financial help to support their own physical and mental wellbeing and has continued to support the Haslers team throughout the pandemic.
