INCREASED SUPPORT ANNOUNCED BY CHANCELLOR

The Chancellor announced today increased support to the new Job Support scheme (JSS)and SEISS. The new JSS comes into effect on 1 November and replaces the current furlough scheme.

The minimum hours requirement is now 20% and the employer will only need to contribute 5% to the unworked hours; the Government will provide up to 61.67%  (to £1.541.75 per month).

The amount of profits covered by the two remaining self-employment grants increases from 20% to 40% meaning an increase from £1,875 to £3,750.

Finally, there is additional funding to support cash grants of up to £2,100 per month primarily for businesses in the hospitality, accommodation and leisure sector who may be adversely affected by the restrictions in high-level alert areas.  The grants will be available retrospectively.
