Landlords thank Barclays Bank and Haslers Chartered Accountants for their free and informative talk
More than 50 local landlords recently joined staff at Barclays Bank and property tax experts from Haslers Chartered Accountants for a free seminar on the latest changes to the property market.
Held at The Standard, in Loughton the event provided both prospective landlords and veteran investors with useful and informative insights on changes to taxation and the region’s current property market.
Haslers’ Tax Partner, Paul Reynolds, delivered a talk during the two-hour presentation entitled ‘Property Tax: latest issues and implications’, which looked at the changes to tax relief and the introduction of new charges over the last three years – many of which have significantly affected landlords’ income.
Feedback from those who attended showed that many thoroughly enjoyed the evening, with some saying it was “just what they needed” while other reporting that “it was very informative”.
Speaking after the presentation, Paul and Isya Hanif of Barclays Real Estate, said: “We were really happy that so many local landlords and investors joined us for our recent presentation.
“Those who we managed to speak with after the event said that they had a lot that they could take away from the evening and we hope to speak with them soon about their current and future property portfolios.”
Paul and Isya were joined at the event by Qasim Mahmood of Barclays Mortgages and Raheel Ditta of Barclays Premier, who shared their local knowledge on the buy-to-let market.
Paul added: “I would like to thank Barclays’ team for joining us at our offices. They added another dimension to our talks, which our guests definitely seemed to appreciate.
“Hopefully we can collaborate with them again in future to help more local landlords with their financial issues.”
