My Haslers Story
When deciding on where to do my 3rd-year placement, I saw that Haslers had managers who, after doing an industrial placement, had returned from university and been promoted internally. This showed they had a clear promotion route which was highly appealing. I also wanted experience in a medium-sized firm as this would give me more exposure to development opportunities.
Working at Haslers has allowed me to mature professionally and personally. I have learnt a lot from my peers, receiving constructive feedback on my work so I can continue improving. Haslers’ culture has also allowed me to be comfortable in asking for help to further improve, something which I’m able to pass on to newer members of the team.
I have had so many opportunities for development. As well as being incredibly fulfilling, this has allowed me to help the firm and my peers. I’ve been given the responsibility of overseeing a team for an assignment and helping out new starters in the office if they need help with their work.
If you’re doing a degree and have the option to do an industrial placement, do it! This year out allows you to gain experience before graduating, giving you a competitive edge when applying for jobs.
