Accountants and auditors play a crucial role in the fight against climate change

Accountants and auditors play a critical role in addressing climate change by helping businesses meet their disclosure obligations regarding ESG, particularly in relation to climate-related risks. The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) are closely monitoring climate-related disclosures and the sufficiency of those disclosures.

It is vital that businesses and organisations are transparent about their environmental impact and are taking steps to reduce their carbon footprint.

Haslers can help by developing and implementing sustainability accounting practices, which involve measuring and reporting on a company’s environmental impact. This can include tracking greenhouse gas emissions, energy usage, and waste management.

We can help businesses identify opportunities to reduce their environmental impact and develop strategies for implementing sustainable practices. This can include implementing renewable energy sources, reducing waste and water usage, and improving supply chain sustainability.

By ensuring that businesses are transparent about their environmental impact and taking steps to reduce it, they can help to create a more sustainable future.

Haslers are working in Partnership with Auditel and will be hosting a webinar next Wednesday 28 June 2023, 12:00 – 12:45 on Cutting carbon – without cutting profits. Please click to join us.
